Quest related

The Murk

How do I get all seven shards?

The first shard you get at the beginning from Old Man Troat when you start the quest. Another you get from a stationary statue in the North-west part of the Murk (See the Murk map for text and image directions). The other five you will find randomly in the Murk - be patient, it can take a while.

What do I do with the disc?

Go just outside of Ethulle's hut, then travel 1 east, 1 north, then as east as you can until you come to some trees. Try fitting the disc into each of the three trees. If it doesnt work, try it again, or try it in a different order.

Can't you just please tell me the right order?

*Sigh* Sure, okay it's Ash - Oak - Maple.

I have the staff, now what?

You need to go to the Temple of Tepthog. See the Murk map for text and image directions.

How do I defeat the serpent?

Do NOT equip the staff, but when you are in combat, USE the staff to defeat the shadow serpent.

The seven statues

How many rewards are there?

There are seven - you must defeat the seven statues seven times to get all rewards.

What archery level should I be to do this?

It varies, but at least 40 - it depends largely on luck so you may not be able to do it until you are 60.

How do I get past the arch?

Wear the wooden mask that you got earlier.

A Haunting in Durnsig

How does it work? How often does the reward change?

It changes once every 90 minutes, randomly. If you want to get the best items, you will have to be very patient as it could even take days to get what you want.

Whats the best item available?

It depends on a matter of opinion, but for most people it used to be the Exalted Diamond Longsword or Tzal-Kagoth. With the addition of the Iakor's Weapons/Shimmering Silver weapons to the game, it is now considered optimal to go with the Dragonwing Breastplate OR the Warlord's Helm. Still a matter of opinion.

What dwellings are available?

One in Durnsig, the other in Trithik.

How do I get the dwelling in Trithik?

You need to complete the Secret of Stoneback Hill adventure.

Powers

If you start off with no power, can you get one in the game?

No.

Where can you get powers from?

Selling items

Where's the best place to sell items?

For AG players, use Graldok for items with a true value less than 2000, and Tryndmoor for items with a true value over 2000.

For non-AG players Talinus is the best place to sell, but you cannot sell for more than 100 gold.

Where should I sell unique weapons?

Bryniver's in Trithik, Blade Square. But selling unique weapons is not always a good idea, as they may turn out to be needed later in the game.

Unidentified Objects

How can I identify objects?

If you are a non-AG player, the only way to identify objects is with level 30 Arcana.

If you are an AG player, you can identify it with level 30 Arcana OR go to a sage such as Elumyr in Hawklor or Lady Cirenea in Mirgspil and pay them 25 gold coins to identify all your items.

How do I use Arcana?

Go to any SAFE location and select Arcana from the drop-down box and then USE (or click Use near to the name of the skill in the Skills tab).

Miscellaneous

May I boost my baseline stat using items, to meet my weapon requirement?

(Example: Exalted Diamond Longsword requires 10 agility, but you only have 7 and use a ring to boost it to 10)

Yes you can. You can even unequip those stat-boosting items once you have the weapon equipped.

How are the Hall of Champions scores worked out?

Where are the other pieces of Doomwall?

Currently not in game.

What is the use of Alignment?

Currently none, but see Alignment for the axis.

As a Non-Subscriber, I find that I get logged out sometimes, why?

In the Fall of 2008, the GM introduced an automatic log out for non-AG members. The log out is based on continuous idle time. If you go over 8 hours without activity on the sryth game interface, you will shortly thereafter have an automatic log out.
